Public Participation

hear ye hear ye

The Montana Supreme Court has clearly ruled that; “The Public” has the right to participate in the discussions of the decision-making processes of public bodies on agenda items before a final decision is made.

Butte-Silver Bow local Government precedent calls for only allowing Public Comment On Items On The Agenda at the beginning of the meeting before anyone knows the positions/opinions of the Commissioners.

The B-SB Local Government Study Commission  has the jurisdiction/authority to change the precedent, at least for their own meetings.

Should our local B-SB LGSC continue to follow B-SB Government precedent, or should our B-SB LGSC follow the MT Supreme Court’s ruling and the Montana Code Annotated?
